Lease or Setup My Own Craigslist Proxy?
When it comes time to look at a Craigslist proxy, you can go about it two ways. These being renting or setting up your own. So when should you rent and when should you setup one? If you are a heavy poster and user of Craigslist, looking at setting up your own proxy server would be a good idea. Just how much is a lot? Anymore than 50 a day, would be considered heavy and you should look at your own server. Less than this and you should be ok with renting IPs from someone else. Renting IPs from other people is fine, but usually they come at a much higher price compared to setting up your own. If you need to post a lot of ads on Craigslist, look at investing into your own Craigslist proxy instead of renting from someone else. You will save a bundle of money.

Can Craigslist Track Craigslist Proxy Activity?
Do you place advertisements on on Craigslist via a Craigslist Proxy? If yes, is it possible that Craigslist knows your every move? The answer to this is in how anonymous your Craigslist Proxy is. If you are using an exclusive or proxy server for Craigslist that you setup yourself and are the only one with access, most likely what you are doing is completely safe from the prying eyes of Craigslist. However, if you are posting on Craigslist with a free or shared proxy server, then there is a good chance that everything you are doing is completely visible. Free or shared proxy servers typically perform poorly when compared with elite or exclusive proxy servers. This is because shared proxies usually can be detected as a proxy server by Craigslist. The other problem is that shared proxy servers might have many people doing the same thing with the allocated proxy IPs. It isn't a great idea to share IPs with other people who might be doing the samething as you on Craigslist, right? Obviously not. If you are using an elite Craigslist Proxy then you should be safe and anonymous on Craigslist.

If I Use a Craigslist Proxy Will My Ads Get Flagged?
Never seem to be able to post an ad on Craigslist without it being flagged? The first misconception that I often see it people mistakenly believing that their ads being flagged has something to do with their IP address or their CL account. Usually this isn't the problem.

Ads on Craigslist are flagged by members of Craigslist and not actually any spam filters. Your ad is being flagged for one of several reasons:

    A. What you are posting on Craigslist is spam or perceived as spam. In terms of content, posting frequency or posting locations.

    B. Someone else who is in the same market as you has decided to flag your ads so they can sell more. You will find that they are just delibrately flagging your ads wherever possible. There are actually groups of people who get together and do this.

Usually one of the above reasons is why your ad was flagged. It usually is not due to your Craigslist proxy.

Should I Use Passwords On My Craigslist Proxy?
Got a Craigslist Proxy and wondering if a username and password is really necessary?. No-one likes to constantly have to enter passwords repeatedly but don't neglect them as they are essential. Proxy servers are machines out in the open on the internet and therefore can potentially be accessed by anyone. Even though there are millions of other IP addresses out on the internet this does not make it impossible to find your proxy server IP. In this day and age there are a multitude of tools that can make IP scanning a very simple process and allow someone to scan thousands and thousands of IPs in a very short time. Due to this you should never setup a proxy server that doesn't use a password. Not doing so means that if someone else gains access (very possible this will happen) they will use and abuse your server and you will be responsible for any actions they do. Instead of not using a password, look to use software the can save usernames and passwords for the IP ports on your proxy to save time. These software programs still allow you to save time by not having to type passwords and agand again but allow you to keep the level of safety that your Craigslist Proxy requires.

Craigslist Proxy - Difficult Posting Ads On Craigslist
Ads won't show up on Craigslist? Can't figure it out? This could be due to a number of reasons why you might be having problems getting ads to stick on Craigslist. These tips should help you to get your ads to stick.

First, don't use words that you think might not be suitable for the category. When putting ads in the for sale area, avoid posting unrelated ads such as work at home ads. Craigslist has several spam filters in place that constantly monitor for any unrelated or irrelevant keywords. Each section on Craigslist is different and most likely uses a different set of filters. Second, avoid using any special html codes outside of what Craigslist supports. Craigslist has a page which clearly shows what html codes they support and using any html codes that aren't listed there may increase the chances of your ads being blocked. Third, limit the number of posts you make per day per IP. Ideally you want to post no more than 1 ad per IP each day. Going over this limit this will work, but posting a lot of ads from one or a few IPs in a short amount of time may result in you being blocked. Finally, don't post ads with external html images. Some section do permit the use of html images but posting images still increases the chance your ad will be blocked. There are sections which do not permit images and ads with images will never go live in those sections.

Getting up ads on Craigslist can cause a lot of stress, but if you follow the above advice it should help you to increase your stick rate. You may also consider looking into a Craigslist proxy to improve the rate of your ads going live.

Do Webproxies Work As A Craigslist Proxy?
Web proxies are a commonly known and used proxy resource. Many people assume that they can use a webproxy as their Craigslist proxy. However, this simply doesn't work. The main problem with webproxies is their lack of anonymity. Ignoring the anonymity issue of your proxy server will make posting ads on Craigslist a very difficult task. As mentioned, webproxies are not anonymous and they do not hide the fact that they are a proxy. This makes it extremely easy for Craigslist and other sites to first inspect the true nature of an IP and if it is detected as a proxy any ads coming from the IP are banned. Since web proxies typically are free, there are some people who make the mistake of assuming that all proxies are created equally and they try to use them to post on Craigslist. This obviously doesn't work and they quickly become frustrated. Even though free is good, webproxies and other free proxies simply do not work with Craigslist and the only real solution is to spend a few dollars on setting up and creating your own Craigslist proxy.

How Many IPs Should I Get On My Craigslist Server?
There are two main things that impact the number of IPs you should setup with your proxy server. How much money you can spend on your proxy and just how many ads you would like to post on Craigslist play an important role. If you don't have enough IPs you can't post enough ads. So obviously the more IPs you have the better if you are looking to post lots of ads. Do you just need to post a couple of ads each day on Craigslist? Or would you prefer to post at least 100 ads everyday? For those who would be happy with just one or two ads, one IP on your proxy server would be more than enough. Anymore than this would be a waste of money and resources. However, if you are looking to post 100 ads or higher then you will need to invest in at least 5 to 10 IPs to start with. Generally speaking, for every IP that you have on your proxy server you can post approximately 10 ads. Using that rule you should be able to quickly figure out if you have enough IPs on your Craigslist proxy to safely post ads with.

Can I Get Different IPs For My Craigslist Proxy?
If you are looking to setup your own Craigslist Proxy then you may want to give some thought to getting IPs from C class IP ranges. It is not something that is talked about much, but not having IPs on your server from different C class ranges could be leaving a very big footprint on Craigslist.

IPs are seperated into four ranges, A B C and D. Ranges are used to keep track of and log the network and ID of the network. Every computer online has an IP which allows it to communicate with other computers online, essentially functioning as an online mailing address or phone number. Most people know that by going offline and then back online you are able to change your IP, but usually the new IP you are assigned is within the same range. This allows companies and other people to more easily identify your activities as even after changing your IP, it hasn't changed enough so that one could make assumptions or try and track patterns of activity between your new and old IP. This could also very well be used by Craigslist in their attempts to log use of Craigslist by people posting ads. Making sure your proxy server has IPs from different C class IP ranges helps to prevent this problem.

As previously mentioned, using IPs in the same C class IP range may make it possible for Craigslist to detect your activity even though you could be using several different accounts (since your new IP isn't varied enough from the old one to make you look like a completely different user). This very same concept of using different C class IP ranges applies to proxy servers and is something you should pay great attention to. Generally speaking, IPs that are assigned to proxy servers are normally within the same C class range, try to make sure this is not the case for your proxy server. Anonymity is very important for anyone posting on Craigslist, be sure to ask about getting IPs on your Craigslist Proxy from different ranges.

Craigslist Proxy - Ads Not Showing On Craligslist?
Wonder why your ads never show on Craigslist? Usually there is one main reason for this and that is why you more than likely will need a Craigslist proxy to help you post ads. Craigslist owns many sites for several countries around the world. You must live in the country you want to put an ad on, otherwise you simply will not be able to post classified advertisements. Craigslist utilizes this as a way to control spam. What would make people want to post advertisements on countries they don't live in? The main reason stems from the amount of traffic some countries generate compared to others, such as China vs the USA. Posting with a proxy will help you bypass this problem. However, not just any proxy will work. The reason why free proxies usually fail is because Craigslist knows about these kinds of proxies. They simply then blacklist the free proxy and any ads they see coming from the free proxy are automatically deleted. Furthermore, free proxies are a bad idea because they are more often than not extremely slow. Since they are free many people are trying to use it all at the sametime. This results in what can sometimes be a painful internet experience due to how slow the proxy server is. So, if you are serious about putting advertisements on Craigslist consider getting a Craigslist proxy that you are the only one with access to.
